INFORMATION FOR THE 2012 MOSMAN JUNIOR HOCKEY SEASON
Registration
Welcome to the Mosman Hockey Club.
Registrations for the 2012 season have closed. For any registration enquiries please contact Sue Ellen Cope at gcope@bigpond.com.au
Prior to registration it would be advisable to read this page as it provides you with information that will assist you when registering.
Please also note that each family will be asked in what capacity they will be able to help out with the club for the 2012 season. The club is run entirely by volunteers and we rely on family involvement in order to function. The children love seeing their parents get involved with their sport and while some roles might seem daunting at the outset, the parents actually learn a lot about themselves and what they are are capable of just as much as the children. Please don't be afraid to register your interest in something entirely new to you. As a club we offer support where required and we thoroughly appreciate all assistance that is given. Go on, make the 2012 hockey season just as exciting for you as it is for your children.
- Minkey (Kindy, Year 1 and Year 2): $165
- 7 a-side Comp (Years 3-6): $ 190
- Full Field (Years 7-12) : $210
- Includes: NSW player insurance, Association fees, training field hire, team photos and end of year presentation costs.

Uniforms costs and requirements:
- Shirts $35
- Skorts (for girls): $35
- Shorts (for boys): $20
- Socks $10
- Hoodies: $35
These can be purchased online with registration and collected from Olympus Sports prior to the first match. You will need to also provide:
- Mouthguard
- Shin pads
- Hockey stick
Olympus sports has a good range of hockey equipment in stock for Junior & Senior players. It is important that a child gets the correct stick for their height. Training and Competition Information
Training will be from 3:45-4:45 each Wednesday up at George's Heights Oval (enter via Sukin Drive) starting from 2nd May. Pre-season training venue for Wednesday 21st March & 28th March will be emailed to players.
The initial training is TBC at this stage - we are still in discussion with Mosman Council.
Each player must have an outdoor hockey stick, shin pads and a mouthguard at each training session and game. If a player does not have a mouth guard at games, they will not be allowed to play. A drink bottle and a pullover (particularly at training at George's Heights as it gets windy) is also recommended.
The competition runs on Saturday's at Frank Grey Fields, Harbord Rd, Curl Curl. Access is from Freshwater Campus Carpark, Harbord Rd, Curl Curl. The first match is on the 31st March, round 2 is on the 21st April and the season finishes on the 18th August. You will be given the match dates for the rest of the season from the team coach or manager.

Minkey A and Minkey B – (Kindy, Years 1 and 2), 6-aside, no goalie, modified rules
Sevens A, B and C – (Years 3-6) 7-aside, goalie, modified rules
Junior Full Field - (Years 7-12). 11-aside, goalie, standard rules

Starts: Saturday 31st March 2012.

Minkey B - 11 am (2 x 15 minute halves)
Minkey A - 11:40 and 12.20 (2 x 15 minute halves)
Seven C's - 11am and 12pm (2 x 20 minute halves)
Seven B's - 11am and 12 pm (2 x 20 minute halves)
Seven A's - 11 am and 12 pm (2 x 20 minute halves)
Junior Full Field - 1pm (2 x 25 minute halves)

Coaches / Managers
We rely heavily on parent involvement in order for the club to function. Many parents volunteer their time as coaches and managers. It will be the same again this year. During the registration process, you will be asked in what capacity you will be able to assist the club. Because of the rapid growth of the club, there are many roles available. Please have a look at them and think about what might be suitable.
